The end of every school year marks a bittersweet time of goodbyes and best wishes along with have a nice summer. However, the end of the 2025-2026 marks a sad time with a goodbye to beloved English teacher, Student Council co-Advisor, and AP African American Experience teacher, Mr. Brown.
Mr Brown shared his reflection on his time at Vista by sharing, I’ll be as brief as possible… in the fall of 2018, I started my career here as a student teacher in room 225. Were it not for the foresight of people like Pamela Henderson, Christy Mills, Chris Hendley, and, of course, Dr. John Anzalone. I would not be here. Eight years later, the time has come for me to say goodbye to this amazing place that has served as a home longer than any place I’ve ever worked or any roof I’ve had over my head in the last 20 years. To every student (regardless of the grade you earned), to every colleague (regardless of how often we disagreed), and to every administrator (regardless of the times we did not see eye to eye), I say, thank you all so very much. You are the people who have helped to shape me into the educator I am. And while I’ve still miles to go before I sleep, I can proudly say that the work I’ve done here, the relationships built here, and the time spent here are things I’ll be proud of and carry with me for the rest of my life. Thanks again for everything! V-I-S-T-A. Vista, Vista, All the way, ” Kenneth D. Brown Jr.
We at the Mountain Lion Messenger staff wish Mr. Brown all the best in his future endeavors and thank him for his continued support of the staff.
