On the first of November 2025, the Los Angeles Dodgers won the World Series championship game. The Dodgers defeated the Toronto Blue Jays in the 11th inning of Game 7. Sports fans everywhere eagerly waited to see the final game that determined the World Series champion team. Many fans especially showed interest in witnessing the pitching battle between Dodgers’ star player Shohei Ohtani and the Blue Jays’ three-time Cy Young award winner, Max Scherzer.
The game started off with Bo Bichette scoring a three-run home run on Ohtani, giving the Blue Jays an early lead in the third inning. However, this lead did not extinguish the Dodgers’ hope, and they would not give up the championship title easily. The game continued to go back and forth when Dodgers’, Max Muncy, scored a solo shot in the eighth inning making it a one-run game. In the ninth inning, Miguel Rojas became an unexpected hero for the Dodgers. The 36-year-old shortstop experienced a challenging postseason, but Rojas did not let that discourage him when he hit the crucial game-tying shot. The Dodgers pulled off their exhilarating comeback when catcher Will Smith carried out the game winning solo shot, defeating the Blue Jays 5-4 and becoming the first team to win back-to-back since the New York Yankees won three in a row from 1998-2000. Pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who achieved the clutch win for the Dodgers in Game 6, won the World Series MVP. The championship game strongly represented the way the series played out, and many fans found it an amazing and memorable matchup. Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman exclaims, “I think the game had every single thing you could possibly have. Just an absolutely incredible game, incredible series- a grind for both teams.”
