On April 9th 2026, various talented students performed in Sierra Vista High School’s annual Talent Show. The Talent Show featured a wide range of entertaining pieces, including singing, dancing, acting, and playing instruments. The student performers showcased their various diverse talents, creatively bringing their art to life.
The annual Talent Show highlights new and spectacular acts from a wide range of passionate students. Dynamic duo Lee Pobre (12) and Zaire Bryant (12) hosted the show; together, they created an entertaining and fun environment for the audience and performers. Bryant shares, “I decided to host this year’s talent show because it’s something I wanted to do since last year, and I always wanted to be a part of the talent show, but I didn’t know what for. So, in my senior year, I asked to host, and it was successful!”
The show began with Lehua Pia (10) performing the solo song “Never Enough” from the musical “The Greatest Showman.” Pia shares, “I decided to show out and give the whole singing and performing thing, it’s getting out of my comfort zone and giving it a shot.” Following Pia’s performance, Sylvan Evarts (9) performed the hit song “Beaches” by Beabadoobee. Next, the original band, The Queen’s Gambit, shocked the crowd with one of their original songs, “Blind spot,” and Savannah Boissiere (12) sang “Earfquake” by Tyler, the Creator.
Logan Sarver (11) continued the singing talents with his performance of “Waving through a Window” from “Dear Evan Hansen.“ He shares, “I decided to audition because performing is fun to me, I get a thrill out of being on stage and showing off my skills to people who are watching me. It’s a great feeling.” Following Sarver, Merrick De Jesus (10), Teage Richins (11), Preston Ross (11), and Braedon Trost (11) performed “It must be Him” by Vicki Carr. De Jesus shares, “I decided to audition because… why not? It’s an opportunity to perform and do what I love, which is performing, so of course I’m gonna do it!”
Next, Robert Landrum (11) shocked the audience with his own solo dance moves to “MUTT” by Chris Brown and Leon Thomas III . Landrum comments, “I auditioned to get involved and try something new.” Following Landrum’s dance, Juelz Lawson (11), Jaylene Limon (11), Dominic Perez (11), Teage Richins (11), and Preston Ross (11) performed their rendition of “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen, and Mia Hamilton (12) performed the Disney classic, “So This Is Love” by Mack David, Al Hoffman, and Jerry Livingston.
Changing the mood, Latroy Thompson (11) shook the crowd with his Guitar solo of “Roots Bloody Roots” by Sepultura, and Kaz Castaneda-Randall (12) and Frisk Moore (12) performed as the talent show’s only duet with “Man or Muppet” from The Muppets. Castaneda-Randall shares, “I decided to audition with my friend Frisk because I love my friend, yes, and I love collaborating. We are doing man or muppet!!! A comedic classic of mine and a childhood favorite.” Kyler Bonifacio (11) followed with his own solo guitar and song, “Blinks Sake,” performed in English, Spanish, and Japanese. Next, Evangeline (Lenny) Hovind (12), who also performed in the 2024-2025 Talent Show, performed her own rendition of the hit song “Zombie” by the Cranberries. Hovind shares, “I decided to audition because I love to sing !! I’m singing Zombie by the Cranberries because the song is such a classic, and the song’s meaning is very impactful in today’s world.” Finally, Sydney Stewart (12) closed the show with her heartfelt performance of the new Bruno Mars song “Risk It All.”
Although various entertaining performances filled the theater, Merrick De’ Jesus (10) and his group stood out, earning them first place. When asked how he felt to have won, De’ Jesus shares, “It feels awesome, it feels awesome knowing I can impress people doing something I’m so passionate about. It’s an awesome feeling seen with your vision.” The Talent Show’s runner-up,
Kyler Bonifaco, proudly claimed his place as the show’s second-place winner, Sydney Stewert received third place for her overall amazing performance, and finally performer Mia Hamilton was crowned as the Talent Show’s honorable mention.
The 2026 SVHS Talent Show ultimately spotlighted several unique and powerful performances. The energy of the performers radiated off the stage and lingered during the curtain call. The Talent Show not only offered students the chance to step outside of their comfort zone but also served as an opportunity to make amazing memories and new friendships.
