On February 8, 2026, the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California hosted the 60th NFL Super Bowl. The New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks played face-to-face in a long-awaited rematch, dating back to the Seahawks’ 4-point loss in Super Bowl XLIX (49) from 2015. The Seahawks kicked off the game with an offensive 3-point kick, gaining the first three points of the game—the Patriots yet to score. Shifting into the second quarter, the Seahawks gained another six points with two more 3-point kicks, keeping the Patriots at zero points defensively for the rest of the quarter, concluding the first half of the Super Bowl, with Seattle in the lead, 9-0.
Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, or famously known as Bad Bunny, performed yet another symbolic, and arguably one of the most politically-driven, Super Bowl halftime shows, following last year’s show– Kendrick Lamar’s, The Great American Game. Bad Bunny, along with additional feature artists, Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin, performed to represent what it means to hold rights as an American and advocate for unity in a divided country. Bad Bunny sang hits including, “Tití Me Preguntó,” “Safaera,” and “Monaco,” in complete Spanish, speaking to the idea that no one should forcefully switch to a different language in order to reach a different audience. Bad Bunny ends his show with the powerful messages, “The only thing more powerful than hate is love,” and “Together, we are America.”
The New England Patriots’ offense opened the third quarter, then lost possession of the ball. With both teams excelling defensively, no points made the board in the third quarter. The Seattle Seahawks put the first points of the second half with another 3-point kick and touchdown made by AJ Barner, starting the fourth quarter at 19-0. Carrying onto the final quarter of the game, Mack Hollins, wide receiver for the Patriots, scored New England’s first touchdown of the game, setting the score at 19-7. During the last five minutes of the game, the Seahawks completed their fifth field goal and a touchdown, run by Uchenna Nwosu, bringing the score to 29-7.
With the final two minutes on the clock, the Patriots scored the last points of the game with a touchdown made by Rhamondre Stevenson, finishing the game at 29-13. The Seattle Seahawks triumph against the New England Patriots after an 11-year due rematch, more than doubling the score, and earning the Super Bowl LX trophy.
