Photography Club President Sachira Dasanayake (12) stands in the quad of Sierra Vista High School to express artistic creativity by capturing raindrops. The photo was taken by Vincent Stiles (11) on February 1st.

Photography Club encapsulates genuine moments of Sierra Vista High School students. Photography Club meets every Thursday after school in room 221 from 1:20 to 2:00. Photography Club offers students a way to share their passion for photography with other students and encourage upcoming photographers.

Students in the club spend time doing photography walks around campus taking advantage of different light patterns and turning everyday things such as hallways and lockers into something that tells a story.

Sachira Dasanayake (12) is the president of Photography Club. Mr. Lucero is the advisor of the club and helps out making sure students feel included. Mr Lucero shared, “Joining this club offers students from all different backgrounds the opportunity to develop new skills and foster new friendships. My favorite part about this club is that students can develop artistic skills and communicate their work to their peers.”  Stanley Ho (11) shares, “Photography club allowed me to express moments I cherish through my own perspective, sharing my mind with others.”

Students  wanting to join photography club make sure to show up every Thursday and ask one of the club members to join Remind (by texting SVphoto23 to 81010) to be kept updated when photography club is happening or canceled.
