Sierra Vista High School jumps into Spring Week from March 3rd to the 7th. This year, Vista amps up the spirit with five Coachella-inspired dress-up days, leading to a high-energy assembly Friday after school, and the epic annual Spring Fest to cap it all off
Monday, March 3rd kicks off the festival themed spirit week with “Main Stage Monday” where students wear attire inspired by their favorite artists. The week continued with “Tye Dye Tuesday” where students embrace iconic tye dye festival wear. “California Dreamin” provided the chance to break out those west coast summer clothes. Thursday’s “Rock With Your Band” gave students the chance to coordinate with their crew. Lastly, “Festive Friday” brings a burst of color, freshmen had yellow, sophomores wore blue, juniors had purple, and seniors repped hot pink. On this day, students were submerged fully into the Coachella spirit at not only school, but the assembly.
Concluding the week, Vista’s Spring Fest opened their gates at 6 pm with a bang.
Overall, Student Council sold 305 tickets, surpassing goals as well as last year’s number, 290, and created amazing memories for participating clubs as well as all who attended. Clubs included Video Game Club with a Smash Bros Challenge, Book Club with a cake walk, Key club doing face painting, DECA with a shooting game, FFA/Garden club selling their farm produce,Bible club hosting a ring toss, Environmental club had temporary tattoos, Cheer had a spin the wheel for prizes, Flag football had a football toss game, Orchestra with Magic tricks and Fizz-tastic floats, Fashion club with a polaroid booth, HOSA had dubai chocolate, K-pop club brough Squid Games to life, Synergy hosted a Just Dance booth, Filipino club had a floating duck pond, Hope Squad hosted Lifesavers, Men’s volleyball promoted their sport, HLSU had a jarritos ring toss, Writing Club hosted a Dunk Tank. A new addition this year from co-chair of the Spirit Committee, Malia Bartlett added was Student Council booths. Seniors hosted cup pong, Juniors got pied in the face, Sophomores made friendship bracelets, Freshman played cornhole, Fundreach Committee hosted basketball and the Spirit Committee hosted giant Jenga both free of charge. The festival was packed with performances that kept the energy high all night, along with a ton of booths and games to keep everyone entertained. It was a night of good vibes, great memories, and an overall festival experience that left everyone counting down the days until next year.
