On February 11, 2024, the Allegiant Stadium held the 58th Super Bowl in Las Vegas, Nevada. An intense and close game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers. The first quarter ended with no points scored, but the 49ers took the lead in the second quarter with their kicker, Jake Moody, making a 55-yard field goal, and running back, Christian McCaffrey scored a touchdown. The Chiefs responded with a 28-yard field goal by Harrison Butker, but the 49ers led 10-3 at halftime.
During the halftime performance, Usher featured many other artists, including Alicia Keys, as they performed their hit duet, “My Boo.” H.E.R. played guitar during “Burn” and “Bad Girl.” Lil Jon joined for “Turn Down for What” and “Yeah!,” followed by Ludacris, who also features on “Yeah!”.
After halftime, The Chiefs scored a 57-yard field goal and a touchdown. Quarterback, Patrick Mahomes threw a pass to Marquez Valdes-Scantling, putting the Chiefs ahead with a 13-10 lead as they entered the fourth quarter. The final quarter began with Jauan Jennings from the 49ers scoring a 10-yard touchdown, but the Chiefs tied the game at 16-16, with a 24-yard field goal. With only two minutes left, the 49ers regained the lead with a 53-yard field goal, but the Chiefs tied the game with a 29-yard field goal just 40 seconds before the end, pushing the game into overtime.
During overtime, the 49ers scored a 27-yard field goal, taking the lead, however, Chiefs quarterback, Mahomes, passed to Mecole Hardman, who scored the winning touchdown. This became the Chiefs’ second Super Bowl win in a row, making them the first team to win back-to-back championships since the New England Patriots did it in 2003 and 2004.
