On October 30th, Vista’s Performing Arts Department hosted the annual “Fright Night” from 5:30 to 8:30pm. Students dressed in their spookiest costumes to experience exciting carnival booth games along with spooky haunted houses hosted by Theatre Club and Student Council.
SV Beats provided music and performances throughout the night. At 7pm “Londyn the Realest” performed two original songs. A performance by the Orchestra followed. After, another SV Beats member, “ChaCha” performed original songs as well. Lastly, the hosts themselves gave a bone-chilling performance. Vocalist Christopher Star (12) performed alongside guitarist Braedon Trost (10) and drummer Preston Ross (10) bringing live music to a whole new level.
Attendee Alijah Santiago (11) claimed that, “This was the best Fright Night I’ve been to, the performances were so much fun”.
Vista’s clubs tied together the entire event, with countless carnival booths. Participating clubs included DECA with a spooky knockout game, Book Club with a Coraline themed slime booth, Hope Squad with a donut eating contest, Video Game Club with a gaming setup, Environmental, Kpop Club, Filipino Club, Garden Club, BSU, Multimedia with face painting, and Fashion Club with a polaroid decorating booth.
The main attractions this year were the two haunted houses. Attendees waited in long lines that were well worth the wait for a bloodcurdling experience that shocked students. Both Theatre and Student Council did an outstanding job at creating an eerie atmosphere that left students excited for the next Fright Night. Nick Durazzo (12) added “The haunted houses were definitely my favorite. I wish I could come back next year”.
Students can look forward to future holiday events with Winter Week coming up next on December 2nd to the 6th.
