On Monday September 23rd to Friday September 27th, Sierra Vista High School celebrated its “Friends and Lovers” themed Homecoming Week. Sierra Vista’s Student Council planned five fun-filled days that culminated in a “Rock Your School” event on Friday followed by the annual Homecoming assembly, and most importantly, the Homecoming dance Saturday evening.
Monday, September 23rd sets dress up days into motion with “Mellow Monday”, where students wore pajamas to celebrate the mellow mood.
Vista celebrated “Adam Sandler Tuesday” with students wearing their baggiest attire to embody the celebrity.
“Lovers and Friends Wednesday” provided the chance to friends and couples to twin together.
With “Throwback Thursday”, students and staff receive a chance to rewind into the 90’s displaying outfits of the time.
“Rock your School Friday” students wore their favorite music artist of any genre, along with experiencing endless entertainment all over the campus during lunch with multiple music setups and dancing. In the back quad students could find the country rock band 15 South while Synergy performed. In the front quad DJ Paradice played EDM. Down in the lower quad students found Karaoke Klub and SV Beats played soft R&B jams in the cafeteria.
To wrap up the spirit week, Sierra Vista held its Homecoming assembly after school Friday. Ariana Penna (12), head of the Spirit Committee, and Kenzie Gidge (11), head of the Dance Committee, hosted the assembly with games and performances.
Saturday evening finished the week off with the highly anticipated Homecoming dance. Sierra Vista opened the gates at 7pm and welcomed students into the sensational music festival created by our own Student Council.
