On May 10, 2023 in Stockholm, Sweden Beyoncé kicked off her long-awaited “Renaissance” World Tour. Beyoncé broke sales records in London after a five show run at the Tottenham Stadium. The London shows brought in the highest grossing engagement at $42.2 million by a black woman and any American artist.
First half of the tour (May 10th-June 28th) took place in Europe. North American dates of tour began July 8th in Toronto. The Renaissance Tour took the world by storm, bringing in more than 2.7 million worldwide fans. Preparation for the tour took over four years, and exceeded expectations.
Forbes Magazine reports that Beyoncé brought in $579 million from this tour, which is roughly $5 million per show. The “Queen Bee” doubled revenue from her second top grossing tour in 2016 “The Formation World Tour” which brought in $256 million. Beyoncé’s tour followed closely behind Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” which later grossed almost double the revenue that the Renaissance Tour brought in. These are both very large tours of all time, and they are both record breaking.
Beyoncé completed 56 shows during this tour, ten countries and 39 different cities attended. The Renaissance Tour concluded in Kansas City, Missouri on October 1, 2023.
