On March 17, 2023, Taylor Swift performed the opening show of the Eras Tour in Glendale, Arizona. From the moment Taylor Swift unveiled the Eras Tour on November 1, 2022, it became evident that it would be a box-office hit, making headlines before it even began. The tour showcases each of Swift’s ten albums, representing the distinct eras she experienced while creating those albums. Swift described the tour as a journey through all of her musical “eras.” The Eras Tour marks Swift’s most extensive tour to date, consisting of 151 performances across five continents. Taylor Swift attracted fame not just through her tour; she also gained significant media attention after confirming her relationship with tight end Travis Kelce by attending a Chiefs game, the first of many public appearances the two made together. In September, Swift took home nine awards at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards. On October 13, “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” released in theaters, earning $92 million in its opening weekend and $249 million in total gross, achieving the status of the all-time highest-grossing concert film. The tour faced controversy when a fan tragically passed away during one of Swifts Brazil shows in November. Twenty-three-year-old Ana Clara Benevides suffered from cardiac arrest due to high temperatures and restrictions on bringing water into the stadium. From then on, Swift took extra precautions to create a safe environment during her shows. The last performance of the Eras Tour concluded on December 8, 2023. Following a groundbreaking worldwide tour and achieving the title of the most-streamed musical artist globally in 2023, Taylor Swift ended the year by receiving the title of Time Magazine’s “Person of the Year.”
