Video game club connects students with fellow gamers while they play games together. The Video Game club meets every Friday in room 410 after school, and everybody is welcome to join. The club provides a fun way to meet new friends with the same gaming passion. Also to bond over favorite games, and discover new ones
Students play video games on PS4s and talk among themselves. The members enjoy playing ¨Fortnite¨, “Call of Duty”, “Super Smash Bros”, and “Mortal Combat”. The club hosts tournaments, recently, the club held a “Super Smash Bros” tournament, and the winner got a $50 gift card.
The board of this club includes Haben Woldabyezgi, the president, Elijah Kimondo, the vice president, and Issac Henry, the secretary. The students created this club to join students together to play video games. The advisor Mr Frank Cadden supports and works with the club members to make sure that his students feel safe and included.
Issac Henery (11) shares, “I joined this club last year because I wanted to play with my friends because I don’t talk to them outside of school so this club gave me a chance to be with my friends.”
Elijah Kimondo (12) explains, “We started this club so we can have a place where people can come together and play video games without judgment and where you don’t have to stay at home. Instead, you can come together with your friends and have fun. We hold tournaments that you could join and hopefully win and we have some prizes for that. We have a lot of fundraisers throughout the year, like we sell snowcones, and hot chocolate, and go to Fright Night and Spring Fest.”
