M3GAN, the PG-13 rated horror/sci-fi movie crept its way into theaters January 6th of this year. M3GAN began trending on social media apps such as TikTok and Twitter when the trailer released October of 2022. The release of M3GAN has certainly been long-awaited, especially since James Wan, producer of The Conjuring 1 and 2, decided to bring his talents to the film as well.

Directed by Gerard Johnstone, M3GAN stars Jenna Davis and Amie Donald as an android designed to protect Cady (Violet McGraw), as she takes viewers on a comedic and bloody journey. When Cady’s parents die in a car accident, she has to move in with her aunt Gemma (Allison Williams), a not so fit parent. Cady and Gemma are not seeing eye to eye, so Gemma, who works at a toy company designs a doll for Cady. M3GAN is designed to connect with her number one user, which in this case, is Cady. M3GAN’s goal is to protect Cady emotionally and physically, and she does just that. Every nasty encounter Cady has that M3GAN is present for she makes sure it never happens again by doing whatever it takes. M3GAN begins with something small, her first victim is the neighbor’s dog, who bit Cady earlier that day. M3GAN soon begins to hurt everyone in Cady’s life that she assumes is not worthy of her, including Gemma. When M3GAN finds out Gemma wants to shut her down, she does not like it; she threatens Gemma and almost kills her. In the end Gemma and Cady worked together to ultimately defeat M3GAN.
