On August 28, 2022, American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift announced her surprise tenth  studio album during her acceptance speech at the 2022 VMAs, “I thought it might be a fun  moment to tell you that my brand new album comes out October 21st.” Taylor Swift won the  Video of the Year (All Too Well 10 Minute Version). Taylor Swift took to her social media to  share the title of her new album, “Midnights, the stories of thirteen sleepless nights scattered  throughout my life, will be out on October 21. Meet me at midnight.” The album Midnights consists of thirteen new songs. Midnights stands out as one of the best album releases of the year.  Taylor Swift made history with Midnights becoming the first ever artist to claim all the top ten  spots in one single frame on the Billboard Hot 100. Midnights became the most streamed album  within a single day on Spotify with 184.6 million streams. After releasing Midnights, Taylor  Swift surprised fans by adding seven more songs which she calls the 3 a.m. tracks, “Lately, I’ve  been loving the feeling of sharing more of our creative process with you, like we do with From  The Vault tracks. So it is 3am and I’m giving them to you now.” Taylor Swift explains that the  album is a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and  sweet dreams. Self-loathing, fantasizing about revenge, wondering what might have been, falling  in love, and falling apart inspired the writing of Midnights. A rollercoaster of emotions makes up  each song in the album, giving the listeners different emotions.
