Rising Seniors Receive Awards

Joy Villanueva, Editor-in-Chief

Throughout this school year, the class of 2022 showed strength and determination as they completed the last remaining tasks to make it to the finish line. To commemorate the accomplishment, Sierra Vista High School hosted Senior Awards night on April 27, 2022 and took place in the school’s main gym.

Vista’s head counselor, Mandy Lange, organized the event, with help from the counselors, a few teachers, and most importantly, our principal, Ms. Lovell.

“It went fabulously!” said Lange.

High achieving seniors received awards and regalia, and the school also acknowledged specific honors such as the class Valedictorian Bojana Novakovic and Salutatorian Miguel Ong; both candidates won several other awards along with these titles that night. The ceremony also acknowledged seniors who earned department awards for excellence in their respective subject. The following seniors received recognition for their excellence in the below subjects. Additional honors included particular diplomas, such as the College and Career Ready diploma and the Advanced diploma.

It’s important to acknowledge the students who are working really hard and are succeeding in academics.”

The graduation ceremony for seniors will be on May 28, 2022 at the Orleans Arena, beginning at 9:00 AM, where seniors will wear the awards received on Senior Awards night, along with a sense of pride for achieving so much during their time at Vista. Congratulations and good luck to the class of 2022!
