Sonic the Hedgehog 2

On April 8, 2022, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 spun and whirled its way into theaters and the hearts of fans across the nation. The film not only introduced new characters but also improved its overall graphics making it a contender for one of the greatest movies of 2022.

Sonic, voiced by Ben Schwartz, anxiously awaits to become a hero once again after his victory over Doctor Eggman (Jim Carry) in Sonic the Hedgehog 1. However Sonic is causing more problems than solutions and people of Green Hills, Montana are not happy with him. The film begins with Doctor Eggman’s return to Earth with a new partner, Knuckles, the last Echidna (Idris Elba) in search of finding “the emerald.” Sonic also finds a new partner, Miles “Tails” Prower, played by Colleen O’Shaughnessey, and they go to stop Eggman and Knuckles from getting the emerald and becoming too powerful.

Sonic’s guardian Tom Wachowoski (James Marsden) trusts Sonic and leaves him alone to go to a friend’s wedding. Sonic using one of his rings helps Tom to create a portal and help him to get to the wedding as fast as he could. Sonic also gives one of his rings to Tom, so he could return back home.

At the end of the movie, Eggman betrays Knuckles and steals the emerald, but Sonic gives a promise fist bump to Knuckles, and they become friends with Tails, to go to destroy Eggman before he becomes too powerful and unstoppable. Eggman loses the Emerald, and it breaks into pieces, injuring Sonic. Sonic still manages to get the Emerald and become powerful enough to destroy Eggman and protect the Emerald with his fellow partners.

Sonic 2 earned a box office of $319 Million plans to release a new movie sometime in 2023. This movie will introduce a new character called Shadow the Hedgehog and Eggman will also return. The movie will also provide better graphics, and it will be based off of the Sonic 3 video game which was developed and released in 1994.
