Dynasty Takes Gold

SVHS’s Dynasty dance competition division competed against all California teams at West Coast Elite (WCE), a prominent corporation that hosts dance competitions and contests. On February 12, 2022, Dynasty won first place at WCE for the third consecutive year. Despite the difficulties that came with competing in the age of COVID-19, the team persevered and won gold. However, the winning streak is not purely luck-based. Dedication to the sport, weeks of practice, and teamwork made their victory possible. One of Dynasty’s coaches, Ms. Ashley Mendez said, “They worked their tails off and it all paid off.” As Dynasty adds another award to the mantle, they also set prime examples of what it is like to work together and win together.
